Child Care Wages Research from the Systems Change Lab

Much has been reported about the national child care crisis whereby the supply of child care teachers is not sufficient to meet the demands of working parents. The Systems Change Lab continues to share research and information around the topic of child care wages in order to inform policymakers and others working to improve the economic stability of the state by understanding the supports needed for a stable child care workforce.

Mississippi Child Care Wages Survey: The Systems Change Lab conducted a study of Mississippi childcare teacher wages and benefits, working conditions, and current needs. The project was funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and conducted in partnership with the Graduate Center for the Study of Early Learning with assistance from the Forum for the Future Child Care Wages Working Group, which receives backbone support from the Mississippi Early Learning Alliance.
